Chilled Water Pipe Sizing with Chart (Part 01)

 HVAC - Chilled Water Pipe Sizing .

The following things considered while Calculating Chilled water Pipe.

1. Pipe Material - Schedule 40 steel.

2.Velocity - 4 fps.

Note : ≤8 fps Maximum Velocity in occupied areas. 

           ≤10 fps Maximum Velocity in unoccupied areas.

3. Friction Loss - 4.0 ft./100 ft

        *Pipe Chart  01 For FCU & AHU Pipe sizing.

        *Pipe Chart 02 For pipe size starts from 2.5 inch based on working hours per year.

                                    

Example :

If Flow Rate : 6 GPM 

Then, Pipe size @ Friction 4ft of water/100 feet = 1 inch(25mm)
