Duct Area Calculation formula - (Rectangular, Round & Oval)


 Types of HVAC ducts:

1. Rectangular Duct                                  2. Round Duct.
3. Oval Duct.


Area of Rectangular Duct = 2(W+H)*L

W - Width of Duct

H - Height of Duct

L- Length of Duct


  Reducer Duct Area - 2(W+H)*L - [(W+H)-(W1+H1)]    

  W - Width of Duct

  H - Height of Duct

  L- Length of Duct

  r - Radius of Duct

Offset Area = 2(W+H)(L1+L2)

W - Width of Duct

  H - Height of Duct

  L- Length of Duct

  r - Radius of Duct

Transition Duct Area(Rectangular to Round) = 2(W+H)L-[(W+H)-(Ï€*r)]

W - Width of Duct

H - Height of Duct

L - Length of Duct

r - Radius of Duct

Area of round duct = 2*Ï€*r*L

L - Length of Duct

r - Radius of Duct


Area of Oval Duct =√((A/2)²+(B/2)²)/2 * 2Ï€L

A - Width of Duct

B - Height of Duct

L - Length of Duct
